On the morning of departure, I woke up in panic, my stomach in turmoil from tension. 'Why am I doing this to myself?!' I thought. I took a few deep breaths and said to myself: 'Because you're going to love this.'
Solo on a motorcycle tour. My big dream and at the same time my big fear, thinking of all the things that could go wrong?
... JUST GOOOO, is my response nowadays. Because I no longer want fear to make decisions for me. Especially not when it comes to big dreams.
So, I packed my bags and attached a backpack to the back of my bike. I set the navigation to infinite and gave my kids a big hug.
"From the moment I hit the gas, the fear disappeared."
Over 1700 kilometers in just under two weeks, and I've only enjoyed it. Nice weather, lovely people, beautiful nature, occasional delightful hairpin turns, and the wind playing with me.
Freedom.
Not just by going out all alone, but especially by realizing my dreams instead of (endlessly) postponing them.
While touring through Portugal, I realized it was time to realize my other big dream. I postponed that too, as it's quite an ambitious project. But it bubbled, and I noticed that my heart sang when I allowed myself to dream.
With the new moon in April 2023, I set the intention: I'm going all in! I wrote my story, and a week later, I pitched the plan to a former colleague-entrepreneur. He was willing to lend me money so I could start right away. What a hero!
With the full moon, I gave the dome builders the 'go' and in August, there were two domes on my land. Not long after there was also an amphitheater. And a fire pit in the shape of a phoenix. And a stable with two donkeys. And a jacuzzi with stunning view. And 6 glamping tents with comfy beds...
I’m massively grateful for all the people that join me on this journey and all the opportunities that came my way to realize my dream.
