I love hiking with all my heart. Being surrounded by nature, gaining a higher perspective, and the effort required to reach the top—it's so rewarding.
I’ve been walking the path of personal development for a while now, and I often compare it to climbing a mountain. Let’s call it the inner mountain, the most adventurous to climb. You start in semi-darkness and walk toward a much lighter version of yourself. The trail leads you through your beliefs and patterns, regularly triggering you to let go of baggage you no longer need to carry.
A few weeks ago, I had a visit that added a much deeper layer to that walk. A layer I had experienced before, but, due to the pressures and distractions of daily life, had forgotten about.
Mark Linde, a soulful guide for leaders on their path of personal growth, received the message that he was meant to organize a retreat in the mountains with international participants. He thought of me and felt that Costa del Soul would be a nurturing place for the development that his participants are allowed to experience.
During a three-day visit, we did several hikes in the mountains, including one to a stunning cave full of crystals. We also made a fire at the Phoenix and I received a healing by connecting with ‘the other world’.

I saw myself as an 11-year-old girl, organizing everything—my self-created school newspaper, drama club, and craft afternoons. I connected people, let them shine by allowing them to do what they were good at, and stayed mostly in the background. The jealousy from others that made me feel small was finally seen and healed.
Then we were suddenly at Costa del Soul. I was invited to visualize what this place would look like if I allowed everything in. Golden rays came from the earth, all the plants and trees were in full bloom, and the air shimmered with abundance and possibilities. Wow.
When I opened my eyes again, I could hardly believe what had just happened. I felt different. Lighter, supported, connected. With myself, but also with the other world. It's a warm and healing feeling that you don’t want to let go of, but it’s necessary to make things happen in the tangible world.
Now I see Costa del Soul with new eyes. I feel the importance of my own energy on this land. I understand even more deeply that you can only truly let your light shine when you become friends with your shadows. And that personal growth is not a light switch, but an ongoing walk. One that you don’t have to walk alone. A journey where, from time to time, you can be guided for an even more magical experience.
